A Different Kind of Kingdom

By December 24, 2020April 8th, 2021No Comments

Our world is rapidly changing. The past nine months have shocked the world. A supposed “pandemic” has destroyed the most robust economy in modern times. Censorship by the mainstream media, unprecedented in the history of our nation, has dismantled the very values we have trusted. Recent surveys indicate that 75% of Americans don’t trust our government or media.

We have watched an election marred by fraud and deception. The most recent surveys show that over 50% of Americans believe the Presidential Election was rigged—68% republicans and 31% democrats.

Our nation is in trouble. The America we thought we knew seems to be eroding before our eyes.

But today is Christmas Eve. And we pull away now to reflect on a different kind of kingdom. The ancient prophecy of the coming King, from Isaiah, is in deep contrast to our world’s systems.

Isaiah 9:6-7

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Could the governments of this world be in greater contrast to the Kingdom of God? Let me explain.

Politicians of our day look for what they can get from you. Jesus looks for what He can do for you.

Political and big tech leaders of our day surround themselves with servants. Jesus surrounds us with His servanthood.

The governments of our day command complete obedience leading to complete enslavement. The Kingdom of God demands complete obedience leading to complete freedom.

Leaders of our day use their power to build their empires. Jesus uses His power to build up the hearts of people to build the Kingdom of God on Earth.

Politicians of our day trade their influence for money. Jesus gives us influence so we can better society and set the captives free.

The Pentagon needs regular wars around the world to keep the appropriations flowing. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and He desires worldwide peace to break out.

Leaders of our day are desperate to be seen and heard on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Jesus never boasted nor tried to be noticed. He just changed the world through the power of changing the lives of each person He met.

Jesus is not in charge of the halls of Washington, London, Moscow, Tehran, or Beijing. It seems like Satan rules this world. So, how can we ever believe the “government will be upon His shoulder?”

We see His government, the Kingdom of God, at work when God miraculously restores a marriage, or breaks an addiction to drugs or alcohol. Such persons have adopted a new form of government, and God is ruling over their lives.

Whenever loving Christians care for those less fortunate, helping those who have lost hope through giving, caring, and action – we are watching the government of God at work.

Whenever we see people eagerly studying the Bible and joyfully worshipping God, we can see Who the Governor is over their lives.

When we see bodies being healed, lives being changed, and families being reunited, we know those people are under a new King.

Whenever we see people give their finances for the King to be lifted up and the Kingdom of God to be advanced, we know they are under a new Kingdom administration.

When we see pastors and churches training their people to be Jesus disciples, we know they are true under shepherds of the King and His Kingdom.

When we see a people spending hours in prayer, crying out to God for their friends, neighbors, city, and nation, humbling themselves and believing God can intervene miraculously into any situation, we know the Kingdom of God has come.

So, indeed, the government of the Kingdom of God is alive and working in over two billion people. It is being noticed and opposed more and more across the world because the zeal of the Lord is present, and His justice, mercy, and grace are unstoppable.

This Christmas, vote for a new King in your life and make a choice to join the greatest, most radical movement the world has ever known, the Kingdom of God.

Excited about the King and His Kingdom,

Pastor Steve
